Is this you????

Lynda K. sent this to me and it is too cute!!!!  Sorry about the formatting - there was a cute pic with the e-mail that wouldn't transfer into my post but the text is still aligned for the picture.  It was a picture of stamping items.

THE STAMPER by Jackie Saxby 1999

I started out with just one stamp
and when I bought some more
I decided that a shoe box
Would make an ideal store.

Then as I added inks and pens,
My stamp collection grew
So I bought a roomy plastic crate
It would last for years, I knew.

Embossing then became my thing
With powders and a heat gun,
Metallics, tinsels, pearls and clear,
I soon had every one.

By now my lovely plastic crate
Was spilling everywhere
And my glitter glue collection
Lay scattered on a chair.

My husband started muttering
And said things had to stop,
So I bought a huge old wardrobe
At the local charity shop.

I couldn't shut the door

To accommodate yet more.

Don’t Forget!!

For those of you that use subscription services to check in on my blog, don't forget that sometimes (not very often, but it does happen!) I post more than once in a day.  Pay careful attention to the e-mails you receive because if you click on one of the posts listed, you will only see THAT post when it takes you to my blog.  There are some ways you can make sure you don't miss multiple posts that are made in one day.

1.  If you click on the main link to my blog within your e-mail - usually you can do this by clicking on the title of my blog in the body of the e-mail sent to you – you can see my entire blog and all of it's posts, not just a specific post from that day.

2.  After clicking on a link in your e-mail to one of my posts, you can click on the word "main" at the top of the screen when you are finished with that particular post and you will be taken to my main blog page and not one particular post.  You can then simply scroll down and see all of my recent posts.

3.  You can click on each post link listed in your e-mail.

Hopefully this info helps – I wouldn't want  you to miss anything!! 🙂

another test

I am trying to show Typepad that while I don't know all of the technical lingo, or exactly how to describe in detail what I do to create my posts, I DO know how to get things to work and OBVIOUSLY something is not right on Typepad's end.  This is a picture that I uploaded HERE ALREADY – as in it already was uploaded by Typepad in the past - and as you can see, I couldn't upload it today unless I saved it "for web" first, so I know that the size is NOT the problem if I could upload it before but not now.  UNLESS they made the upgraded version of Typepad not meet the same performance levels as the previous version.  In which case, that is unjust to those of us that paid for a service that functioned a certain way and now it doesn't.  I don't understand why this isn't figured out.  I know, I know, I am getting so frustrated and am just trying to stay nice about it.  I am looking into another host, but to do it through her it's $250 right off the bat and then $100 every year.  While I love blogging and sharing with my customers and friends, I don't make enough money to justify paying that much for a blog.  I may just quit blogging.  I can just visit everyone else's and if this doesn't get resolved, I will be very vocal about it because while Typepad is a big company and they can just tell me "tough luck" and not make it right, I can do all that is possible to let others know how I was treated.  I certainly hope that my lack of hearing from the "help team" and the fact that they don't try to do a "real-time" chat with you to get on the same page instead of going back and forth for DAYS doesn't mean that it can't be fixed.  Okay, okay…I'll breath and be nice again.  I'm sure that the Typepad people are all nice in real life – they're just not helping me fix this so I'm in a bad mood.  All of their answers to what "must be" the problem are not right, they're looking very superficially at this problem.   Ranting done.

Well, you’ll have to check out Verve Visual stamps, if you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t already. Remember, if you’re typically a SU! user, VV stamps are acrylic so you’ll need some clear blocks to mount them on in the appropriate sizes for the images you choose.

I’ve been admiring the VV stamps for a while now, and FINALLY buckled under the enabling pressure of fellow stamper’s blogs, and bought a couple of sets. Only four!! I wanted five….Anyway, they have free shipping if you spend over $50 and their stamps are (as I’m so fond of saying) so stinkin’ cute!!! I’m sure those of you with blogs that I’ve commented on have gotten that at least once…I love to say that things are stinkin’ cute when they’re STINKIN’ CUTE!!! 🙂

Anyway, check out the Verve Visual store here. I’m off to have nightmares that we’re not moving to Dover this summer and all of our stuff that’s sitting there in storage is going to get stolen or ruined as it is flown/shipped to Hawaii! Not that Hawaii isn’t great, but I’ve settled on Dover and as of 8 pm tonight they told all of “us” here at Altus that are in training to go to Dover to fly the C-17 there that we need to give them a list of our top three bases OTHER than Dover. I sure hope they don’t make all of us not go to Dover- I’d rather go to Hawaii next move when I’d have some time to prepare for a move that far away!!!

Okay, I’ll go to bed now like I said I was! You all come here for stamping stuff after all, not stuff about me – or I wouldn’t keep losing subscribers after long-winded posts, huh? Sad, but true. 😉

I was asked….

Doris was wondering what I did to edit my photo in Photoshop. Well, so far (I’ve only had Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 for a short while now) I’m able to “cheat.” I just open my photo in APE and click on Quick Fix and it fixes the photo for me – adjusting the brightness, contrast, shadows, etc. Only one time has it made the card look worse, and that was because when it fixed it it altered the colors a little too much for my taste. So, I had to manually fix it and again there’s a button you click and then you just adjust the contrast, brightness, highlights, etc. I don’t really know how to be much more informative than that.

Kaylyn over at SCS recommended the following to me. She said to get this book if I have APE and that it REALLY helps: “Top 100 Simplified: Photoshop Elements.”

Doris, I hope that I at least kind of answered your question. Most photo software has some kind of editing tab where you can fiddle with the sharpness, contrast, etc to get your card looking right/better. If you have a specific question, I might be able to help so let me know!

I will be posting a card shortly, but first I wanted to ask all of you how I can get my name in each post as a signature? I’d like it to be a handwritten-looking “Marie” at the bottom. I’ve seen them on several blogs, cursive-like signatures that you can tell are computer generated, not actual signatures. Thanks in advance for any help!!!

Photoshop is here!

I thought I would show you the difference between an un-photoshopped (yes, now I’m making up words) photo and a photoshopped one. Here are the before and after-being-edited shots for your viewing pleasure since I didn’t get to stamp today.

The before is the last card I posted – here it is:

The after is THIS!!!!

Yippee!!!!! One good thing does make me get over yesterday a little bit. 🙂
