I was looking around on Etsy and found Heatherann’s shop called “Handmade by Heather”.¬† The photo above is the picture she has at the top of her page.¬† It IS NOT the inspiration photo.¬† Rather, I thought this week I would give you your choice of any of the necklaces you find HERE¬†is your inspiration (there are 17 pages of necklaces!!!).¬† When you choose your favorite¬†and create your card, make sure to put a link to the necklace you chose so that we can see your inspiration piece.¬† You have two options for doing this depending on if you blog or not.¬† If you blog, simply save the picture of the piece you choose and put it in your post with whatever you created.¬† I’m sure your own readers would like to see what your inspiration was.¬† If you don’t blog, in your comment on this post where you will leave the link to your creation in your online gallery, leave the link to the specific piece you chose.¬† You can do this by clicking on the necklace in her Etsy shop and then copying the link that is displayed once you do.¬† Just paste it in your comment here.¬† As a courtesy to Heatherann, please include a link to her shop in your blog post.¬† Thanks!¬† Below are the rules, and I am off to narrow it down to which one I want to use since I love so many of them!!!

Here are the rules:
You¬†will have¬†through¬†Monday evening (Dec 8)¬†to comment with a link to your creation.¬† Please post your link in a comment to THIS post, along with a link to the piece of jewelry that you used for inspiration (if you don’t have a blog where you can just include the photo/link there in the post you are linking to).¬† Additionally, please ensure that you leave a direct link to the actual post or specific picture in your gallery.

On¬†Tuesday morning, December 9th,¬†I will post my own creation along with a list of links to all of yours.¬† I will use Random.org to select one of your entries as¬†the “featured artist” in my own post.¬† This¬†means for your link to appear in the initial post or to be considered as the featured artist, I would need to have it by 8:00 pm on Monday evening.¬†

If you upload your card to SCS, please use the keyword CBC06 with no spaces, so that we can find them easily.

DSCN5451So, you’ve been waiting patiently for the reveal to CBC05, so here it is!!!¬† My posting will be a little sporadic this week as we adjust to moving my daughter into a different kindergarten class today.¬† She will no longer be going for a full-day.¬† The only full-day kindergarten in our district is for kids who have tested below what is desired to enter kindergarten in one area or another.¬† Five of the kids in the full-day program are asked to be in the class as “role-models” and my DD tested high enough to be asked to be in the class.¬† Well, after this many months of being in the full-day class as a role-model, we finally decided to pull her out and put her in the “regular” half-day program at her school because she just wasn’t thriving in the classroom.¬† She was also upset with the teasing/exclusion at school each day when she came home and we saw no need to subject her to that, so, I will have all three kids at home every day from lunch on instead of having only the two until about 3:00 pm.¬† My mornings are taken up with going to the gym – I lost over 6 pounds this last week, and Thanksgiving was even in there!!!¬† So…hopefully you’ll understand.¬† I need to get myself back on track – my weight included – so stamping/blogging will be taking a back seat until I can re-adjust my schedule.¬† Here’s my almost monthly plug for using one of the links on the left-hand side of the screen to subscribe to my blog.¬† That way you get updates when I post them and can use your time to surf sites that are posting instead of checking to see if I’ve got anything new or not.

ETA:¬† Many of you have asked how to make the medallion flowers.¬† Well, it is certainly not an original design of mine, and I found a tutorial on a scrapbook sketch challenge site I frequent that is on Kristen’s blog HERE.¬† She gives very good instructions.¬† I used my Scallop Edge punch where she uses “edgers” as you will see in her tutorial.¬† Enjoy!!!

Now that I’ve bored you to tears, Random.org picked post #3 to be the spotlight for this weeks Combat Boot Challenge and that was Lynda K!!!!¬† If you click on her name you can see her fabulous SCS gallery and her lovely card is there for this challenge.¬† Isn’t it neat how she made that vase?!?!?

Thanks to all who played Рyour cards are fabulous!!  The players this week were:

Hope to see you for the next Combat Boot Challenge!!!

CBC05 Postponed….

My husband came back early!!!  He got in last night and ruined my plans to stamp while all of the kids were asleep and get my card one.  I would rather have him home than stamp though, I must admit ;)  He's been gone almost half of the month of November!!!  I've got a great idea in my head for my card.  BUT…today we have to get on the road and I've got lots of laundry to get done for my DD#2 that's going to stay with her grandparents for a few weeks before we can start driving.

So….I will get my card done and posted with the spotlight on one of you ASAP after Thanksgiving.  What that means though, is that if you haven't gotten a chance to participate, you STILL HAVE TIME!!!  So, check out the challenge HERE and have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving.  I have SO MUCH to be thankful for and I include each of you on my list.  I am truly blessed and I just love this time of year when we really reflect on all that we have been given.  I hope you get to spend time with those you love over Thanksgiving and get to eat all the yummy food you want!!  Take care, and play in my challenge if you haven't!!!

Hi there!!  I hope that with the holidays approaching you'll be able to participate in this week's challenge.  I will not be posting one next Saturday – I'll skip a week – just to take a little break over the weekend directly following Thanksgiving.  I'm sure you all will be busy too ūüôā

Chocolate Room

As you can see above, this is the inspiration photo for this week's challenge.  I found it over at the Behr (paint) website under a section called "Designing a Dreamy Bedroom.  Restful Color Schemes You'll Just Love Waking Up To." and I really liked this one.  You can see the link HERE.  Just make sure to click on the "Emotional" tab.  I am trying to figure out exactly how I want to do our bedroom.  I was thinking a light (not too light) greyish-blue color to go with our bedspread, but the bedspread does have chocolate in it and I really like this room.  I don't know if it would get "too dark" though for me????…..

Anyway – here are the rules:
You will have through Monday evening (Nov 24) to comment with a link to your creation.  Please post your link in a comment to THIS post.  Additionally, please ensure that you leave a direct link to the actual post or specific picture in your gallery.

On Tuesday morning, November 26th, I will post my own creation along with a list of links to all of yours.  I will use Random.org to select one of your entries as the "featured artist" in my own post.  This means for your link to appear in the initial post or to be considered as the featured artist, I would need to have it by 8:00 pm on Monday evening.

If you upload your card to SCS, please use the keyword CBC05 with no spaces, so that we can find them easily.

So…this is turning into a Marie and Kelly challenge ;)  I had so much interest in the beginning of the challenges that I was sure this would be a successful weekly challenge.  By successful, I mean that I would actually inspire people to CREATE something.  Well, many of you have said you WANT to create something but don't have the time.  So, I will give this challenge one more try (next week) and then I may just see if Kelly would like to do a little stamping-duo challenge so I won't feel like such an inspirational failure!  ;)  You can check out CBC04 HEREto see the pics of all the bags and the other details about the challenge.

B&w bag Anyway, this was my card.  I used the black and white bag you see to the left and was really just "feeling" a black and white card.  I didn't really want to use any of the geometric or other design elements of any of the bags.  Pretty much all of them just gave me some great ideas for color combos.  I really wanted to do the red one, but couldn't figure out which SU! red CS to use, so I then thought to use the red and green bag, but realized it was a lot like the menu planner I posted HERE so I thought I would try something different.  It was between the brown bag and the black and white one.  Had I used the browns, I would have gone with Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa and Kraft.  BUT…I really like black and white cards, so this is what I came up with!  I hope you enjoy it!!!

Stamps:  Pocket Silhouettes
Paper:  Basic Black and Whisper White CS
Ink: Black StazOn
Accessories:  Black Gingham ribbon, Large and Small Oval punches, Stampin' Sponges, Stampin' Dimensionals

As for the reader spotlight…as you may have decoded from above, Kelly was the only player this week – she's a loyal participant, that girl!!!  You can see the post with these cards on Kelly's blog HERE, and below are the THREE cards!!!!  Aren't they lovely?  I'm guessing you can totally tell which bag she used for inspiration, and like me, she used it for it's colors.

Kelly1 Kelly2 Kelly3

Until tomorrow….
