Baby Gift Card Holder

I made this gift card after seeing one on SCS.  I don’t have any instructions and I didn’t have any when I made it.  I just tried to “eyeball” it.  Hope you like it!  It had a nice gift card in it for my daughter’s teacher who is expecting a baby over the holiday break.  It will be her first and since she didn’t have a registry we could find to buy her a big-ticket item, we gave her a Visa gift card to buy whatever she wants for the baby, wherever she wants.  You won’t be able to see it very well, but the little moon is stamped on Certainly Celery in Certainly Celery and then covered with the fabulous Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint from SU!.  That is Very Vanilla CS – just so you know – it’s not bad lighting 😉

I wanted to use my Nursery Necessities stamp set originally, but then I remembered I let a friend borrow it, and I don’t have any other current baby sets, so I ended up using this retired set called So Many Scallops.  I’m sure many of you remember it.

Anyway, hope you’re having a lovely day.  I’m sorry that at my best right now I can only post once a week, but it’s better than nothing, right???  🙂  Take care!!!!

This is a set of cards I made for my husband’s squadron to give to the families with new baby girls.  I guess there’s something in the water here – I gave them equal amounts of boy and girl cards, and they already need more for little girls 🙂  The card is a mix of old and new.  The pink is Pink Pirouette, the stamp is Congrats from this past Sale-a-Bration promotion, and the DSP is from the Cottage Wall DSP pack (new) and the butterfly is Bella Birds DSP (old) punched with the new Butterfly punch in the new Idea Book & Catalog.

I hope you like it!

2nd GSG swap card

DSCN7480

Well, this is the other card I made for the 2nd swap group I was in with my fellow GSG gals.  I signed up with Teeny Tiny Wishes and was then kind of like, hmmm….  I didn’t have any great ideas for how to make it be the focal image of my card.  So, since no one had signed up for Animal Stories, I decided to do another stamped BG using a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes, and pop an embossed whale from Animal Stories up on the card.  I also stamped a BG using the little whale on the card base, and added some of the yummy new Soft Suede 1/2″ Polka Dot Grosgrain ribbon with a 5/16″ Jumbo Brad in Whisper White for a little added detail, and tah-dah!  I hope they like it – making 7 of these hand-stamped sentiment BG’s and cutting out the little embossed whale was NOT quick or easy!!!!!

Another One…

DSCN6183

So, here’s the other baby boy card I mentioned in THIS post.  I like this one the most of the two.  What do you think?

Definitely subscribe to my blog via Google Reader or via the Feedburner link in my left-hand sidebar.  My hubby got home from a 2 week “trip” to Africa for the Air Force this past Sunday and he leaves for another “trip” tomorrow morning.  My stamping time is sparse, but I do have some swaps to share with you.  For now I’ll probably be posting every other day at most.  Thanks for bearing with me.  Lots of things going on with the kids – various issues that require trips to doctors, etc.  So, take care, and until the next post…. 🙂

All supplies SU! unless otherwise noted.

Baby Boy Card

DSCN6185

I showed everyone the baby girl card I made for my husband’s squadron to use for new baby girls that members of the squadron have.  Well, these are three of the six baby boy cards I made.  Again I used the monochromatic challenge from the Great Swaps Girls blog to come up with the colors.  You should check it out here.  I think it’s cute.  I decided to change the LO of the elements a little for the last three and I’ll show you that card later.  I also have some Great Swaps Girls cards to share, but I need to give those a few more days so that hopefully the gals have gotten them before I share them.  Anyway, life is still crazy for me and today we had a snow day so all three of my little munchkins are at home, I had some cards to make, I have an event for church tomorrow night that I’m heading up to get ready for, and I have a friend staying with me while her kiddo gets some surgery done here in the states (they are in the Air Force and are stationed overseas at a base where the surgery can’t be performed).  So….posts will probably be spaced every other day for a while now.  Hope you’re all doing well!!!

All supplies used are SU! unless otherwise noted.

DSCN6178

I have to make this quick – my life has been absolutely crazy the past couple of weeks, and it doesn’t stand to get any better over the next week or so.  I’ll try my best to pre-schedule a post or two (to include my reveal for sketch #4 over at Card Patterns), but I can’t promise much more than that for now.  Yet another plug to subscribe to my blog to get e-mails when I update via Feedburner using the link in the left-hand sidebar.

This is a card I made for my husband’s squadron to give to families who have baby girls in the near future (I made 6 of them).  It uses the Congrats stamp set that you can get for free during Sale-a-Bration.  I really like it – it has a lot of great sentiments for all sorts of occasions.  Sale-a-Bration ends March 31st, so don’t miss out on it!  Check out the mini catalog for it in my right-hand side-bar.  I used the challenge from the Great Swaps Girls blog (monochromatic) to come up with my color combo.  Check out the challenge HERE.

All supplies are SU! unless otherwise noted.

Stamps:  Congrats
Paper:  Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla CS, Parisian Summer DSP (retired)
Ink:  Pink Pirouette classic ink
Accessories: Scallop Edge punch, Big Shot, Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die, Very Vanilla Taffeta ribbon, stampin’ dimensionals

Last baby card for now

DSCN6090

Here’s the last invitation I made for my friend who asked me to make them for her for her friend’s baby shower.  After she saw the three samples I made, looked at the IB&C along with me over the phone, we settled on an invitation and will be making the Thank Yous later when she knows what her friend has.  The shower is after the baby is to be born, but she needs the invitations before, so obviously they had to be more neutral in color.  We’ll probably go more “traditional” with the Thank Yous when the time comes.  Enjoy!

Stamps:  I’m Here, Sincere Salutations
Paper:  Mellow Moss, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla CS, Chocolate Chip Patterns DSP
Ink:  Mellow Moss and Chocolate Chip classic ink
Accessories:  Very Vanilla 1/4″ Grosgrain ribbon, Scallop Edge punch, Paper Piercing Tool and Template, stampin’ sponges
